Room 41 - Live Streaming

Room 41 offers a 4 camera, live streaming rig using all Canon HD cameras and the Blackmagic Atem Mini Pro live switcher for dynamic live switching between 4 HD cameras. We can also Live Stream to multiple platforms simultaneously. We can set up graphic masks to advertise products, sevices or even a virtual tip jar. We can also set up a "Paid" front door to charge admission to your Live Stream event.


Room 41 - Video Recording

Room 41 has 4 Canon HD Cameras, 3 of which are broadcast quality. Our Canon Cameras are wired directly to our Black Magic ATEM mini-pro live switcher but they can also record independently. In addition to our 4 Canon HD cameras we also have 7 HD GoPro Cameras for a total of 11 HD cameras OnSite, we cover most angles.

Room 41 - Audio Recording

Room 41 has a 32 channel Recording System. We run the latest versions of ProTools, Logic, Luna and Reason. We use Universal Audio Apollo interfaces for our converters. Our mic pre selection ranges from BAE/Neve and Black Lion Audio to UA Apollo and Allen & Heath. The live sound system is currently 16 channels with a broadcast quality active splitter onstage, every single input plugged into the live PA gets routed to the recording studio. In addition to the 16 channels from the PA we have stereo live mics in the room to capture room ambience and audience reaction plus a stereo feed direct from the front of house mix, leaving 12 extra recording channels.


Tech Specs

Room 41 Stage & Live Sound Tech Specs

Room 41's modular stage is generally set up in the following configuration. The main platform is 12ft deep x 16ft wide (4, 4x8 risers across the front with 2 more sideways across the back), in addition to this there is a 3ft x 5ft thrust extension stage left for our Grand Piano along with an 8ft x 6ft drum riser and two 4ft x 2ft wings on either side of the drum riser (usually used for amps). The stage is 24" high while the wings and drum riser are 16" tall. The general deck of the stage is wood while the drum riser and wings are carpeted. Our stage can be enlarged is several ways (wider and/or deeper). Max width of 20ft, max depth of 16ft. In Non-Covid times our venue seats 65 with 90 possible including standing room. Socially distanced audiences can reach 24, we have 12 seperate marks on our floor, each 6+ feet apart. People from the same household can sit together. We also have our own Covid Compliance officer. We take temperatures, require masks, social distance and have up to 6 plexiglass shields available for safety.

The entire room has been sound treated with carpet, foam, diffusers and bass traps, our bass traps where designed and tuned specifically for our room, in short we are set up perfectly for live recording and performances.
Our space (including control room) measures 49ft x 23ft with an 11ft ceiling.

Room 41's P.A. system includes 16 channels of Allen & Heath, 3 fold backs to the stage (two physical sends to boxes onstage plus one to our in ear monitor). FOH: 2x QSC HPR153i w/ dual 15" speakers. Monitors: 2x QSC KW-122's, one QSC K-8 and one IEM system available. Available effects are Allen & Heath onboard digital plus a Lexicon PCM-70 and a DBX ProVocal. There are seperate DBX graphic EQ's for FOH (31 bands each) and Monitor Sends 1, 2 & 3, plus one insert graphic (15 Bands each). We also have one wireless hand held vocal mic. Onstage mics include a pro Audix Drum Package, DPA piano mics, and an assortment of Shure, AKG, Royer & Senheiser's.

Our lighting rig was designed by an Emmy Award winning lighting designer, we have nothing fancy just great white LED light that looks amazing on digital video, no colors to make people's skin tone look bizarre. We also have backlight to give depth to photos and video.

Room 41 Backline Equipment:

Drums:
3 kits onsite. DW Collectors Series Maple: 22"x18" bassdrum, 10", 12", 14", 16" toms & 14" snare. Ludwig CS Accent Custom Birch: 20"x16" bassdrum, 12", 14", 16" toms & 14" snare. CafeRider: 22"x14" bassdrum, 12",14", 16" toms & 14" snare.
Snares:
In addition to the snare drumsmatching our kits with have Pearl Free Floaters available: 14"x6" Bell Brass Anniversary, 14"x6" Brass Shell, 14"x4.5" Maple & 14"x8" Maple.
Cymbals:
Many and Varied!?! 4 great sets of HiHats, 13" & 14" Paiste Signatures, Zildjian 15" A Custom MasterSounds & a set of Sabian 14" HHX Evolutions. Great Rides from an old 20" Zildjian or a newer 20" A Custom to a 22" Sabian HH Jazz Ride and a 20" Paiste Signature. Way to many crashes to list including large, small, splashes and chinas.
Hardware:
Our hardware is a mixture of DW, Tama and Gibralter including an Iron Cobra Double Pedal and a DW-5000 single.
Percussion:
We have a two piece set of Congas with a stand, a two piece set of Bongos with stand, a two piece set of Timbolitos with a stand and a couple tamborines and bells available.

Keyboards:
Our main attraction is our Yamaha G3 6'1" Grand Piano, classic Gloss Black & tuned regularly. Onstage we also have a Roland Fantom X8 weighted fullsize 88-key Keyboard. Also available are a classic Korg Triton Studio and a Korg Karma. We also have several Roland KC-550's available for amplification.

Guitars:
We have two amps set up onstage most of the time: a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo Half Stack and a Marshall Mode Four Half Stack. We also have a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and a Behringer Ultracoustic. We also have a few OnSite Guitars in case of emergency, some recording quality and some rock and roll thrashers.

Bass:
We have two main bass rigs. The larger one that is on the stage most of the time is a GK-700RB Bi-Amp bass amp paired with a Mesa Boogie 1516 full range bass cabinet. Our smaller rig is an Aguilar Tonehammer 500 paired with an Aguilar GS-112nt cabinet. We also have several 4 and 5 string basses available incase of emergency.

Room 41 Recording Studio:

The heart of the Room 41 Recording Studio is our Mac Trashcan, 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 with 64 Gigs of Ram. We are using two Thunderbolt equipped UAD Apollo interfaces: one Apollo 16 and one Apollo Duo. The Apollo 16 has an Allen & Heath front end for mic pres w/ one channel coming from a BAE-1028. The Apollo Duo has 4 onboard mic pres and 4 more serviced by a Black Lion Audio Auteur Quad, the Adat Bridge from the Apollo Duo is connected to an Audient ASP-880, an 8 channel set of mic pre / converters. We have 32 channels of i/o at your disposal.
Mics:
Way to many to list but a few inhouse highlights include our 1938 RCA-44BX, an AKG C 414-B-ULS, DPA-4099's and an amazing set of pro quality Audix Drum Mics.
Room 41 boasts 5 seperate Live Rooms with snakes all connected to the control room.
Our studio computer has ProTools, Logic, Luna and Reason available.
Room 41 also offers mixing & mastering services.

Video Production @ Room 41:

Cameras:
1x - Canon XA-25, 1x - Canon XA-20, 1x - Canon XA-10, 1x Canon HF-R72, 3x - GoPro Hero 3+ Black, 3x - GoPro Hero 3+ and 1x - GoPro Hero 3. 11 HD cameras total.
Mounts & Lighting:
Here @ Room 41 we have many options to capture the angle you're looking for. Our 4 HD Canon cameras are usually mounted on the walls and wired for Live Streaming. One left, one right and two on the back wall. Any or all of these cameras can be relocated for recording. In addition to those four permanent mounts we have two ceiling mounts near the lighting rig, these are generally used for GoPros. We have one pro quality tripod available. We have one hand held entry level steady cam rig available. We also have various clamps, clips and mini-tripods to position GoPros where ever you need them.
Our stage lights are consumer track lighting that has been rebulbed by an Emmy Award wining lighting desiger to look amazing on digital video. These lights can be focused and/or turned off to achive the desired lighting. We have six back lights mounted onstage as well. In addition to our general stage lighting we have two halogen photography lights with pole mounts that we use to add light to the room when needed.
We also have Green Screen curtains available.
Footage & Post Production:
We have a Pro Dropbox account and a high speed transfer set up, we can upload your footage usually in 1 business day. You always have the option of bringing a hard drive to the studio to take your footage or you can come to the studio and log into the online storage account of your choice and we can upload your footage directly to your account.
The recording studio at Room 41 is also an edit bay. We have Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier installed on our studio computer. You can rent time here and edit your project yourself or pay us and we can edit if for you.
